Description

Afro SPED was created for parents, relatives, friends, allies, educators and related service professionals of public school African-American (K-12) students with disabilities. It is a safe place for us to learn, vent and discuss subjects relating to federal laws, I.E.P's, case studies, disproportionality, school happenings, resources, etc. in a culturally responsive manner. (Club created on 12/30/21)
#1 Come to Learn & Engage: This is learning space. Bring your authentic self, be open-minded and contribute when you can. This space is exclusively dedicated to topics related to African-American students with disabilities.
#2 Be Respectful: Practice active listening and be self-aware. Don't talk over others; one mic policy. There is no tolerance for disrespect.
#3 Invite at least 5 people: Invite at least 5 people to join who are parents, relatives, teachers, friends, allies and/or related service professionals of African-American students with disabilities.
