Doug Schnitzspahn on Clubhouse

Bio

A leading voice and changemaker in the outdoor space, Doug Schnitzspahn is the editor-in-chief of Outdoor Retailer and Elevation Outdoors magazines, and executive editor of Sensi magazine. He has covered the outdoors, politics, conservation, music, and travel in publications including Men’s Journal, Outside, Backpacker, and National Geographic online. Before his career in journalism, he spent time building trails and fighting wildfires for the U.S. Forest Service and working in conservation with The Wilderness Society and Sierra Club. Schnitzspahn holds an MFA from the University of Washington where he taught writing, and he lived and taught in Rome through UW. His work has been honored by Best American Essays and a fellowship from the Colorado Council on the Arts. Recently, he hiked all the high points in the Nordic countries. He loves chili rellenos and cannoli.
