Bio

I completed my graduation and Post-graduation in Painting from Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University in Baroda. Apart from teaching in various art and design colleges in India, I have been practicing my art for over 40 years now.
I have also been a designer involved in product development for 8 years running my own business. I spent a year in Mexico (1999-2000) on Mexican Government Scholarship. During this period I spent 6 months in Taxco learning Spanish language and 6 months in Mexico City as Artist in Residence in La Esmeralda.
I have had the fortune of exhibiting my art in India and abroad.
I have been a faculty in NID, Ahmedabad; NIFT, Gandhinagar and a visiting faculty at School of Architecture, CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
I was the Dean of Under Graduate program at Indian Institute of Crafts & Design in Jaipur where I got the opportunity of putting together a curriculum of a new under graduate program and its execution. It is here that I got first hand exposure of craft traditions in our country. As an artist interested in hand skills, I value my interaction with the craftsmen immensely.
As Director of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust in City Palace, Jaipur, I got the opportunity to use all my experience; as an artist, a teacher and my exposure of crafts and design.
At present, I am an independent artist living and working in Jaipur.
