Woke3 is a melanated muralist and mixed-media artist from Norf Nashville. Woke3 has a special gift: he has the ability to make people feel connected, appreciated, respected, and completely submerged in his art works. His works are greatly praised by the community for being inclusive, diverse, and having the ability to show how no one thing is greater than another, expressing his heart for a more equitable world for all.

Woke3 continues to engage and empower his community through large scale murals.

People can not only see themselves represented in Woke3’s works, but they can see how their community is represented in a positive, confident, and bold way. Many times, Woke3 is able to invite the community to be a part of conceptualizing, defining, and executing the mural as a stamp to say: “This is for us, by us!”. The location and messaging of a mural plays an even grander part in the creation process of community murals.

Graffiti

Beyond murals, Woke3 is a cartoonist, toy designer, graphic designer, filmmaker, and much more. But his passion for the arts comes from his love for Hip Hop culture and, thus, as part of the visual artist movement – Graffiti.

Education

Tennessee State University’s Art Department changed the trajectory of Woke3’s life. There is where he learned about mixed media and art education varying from art history, 2d, 3d, graphic design, figure drawing, print making, silk screening, painting, presentation, gallery showing, writing, how to take a critique and how to become what you call an “artist”.
