I’m Hydeia (hy-dee-yah) but you can call me Hydee. I live in Brooklyn now but I’m originally from Chicago. After perusing my dream of being a professional dancer I’ve decided to make a career change. I’m considering going back to school for public policy or mass media communications with a concentration in politics. Ultimately I would be happy as a campaign manager or a political pundit but I haven’t decided where I could do the most good.

During the pandemic I’ve picked up social media managing and content creation. I want to learn more about marketing and branding so I can grow my side hustle. If I’m going back to school baby girls gonna need some extra 💰😏.

When I’m not thinking about work I like to read (currently: Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller, and Circe by Madeline Miller), cook, and visit new museums and art galleries. Wine and chocolate is the most successful marriage I’ve ever seen, and I am a true supporter of them 🍷🥰🍫.

Ultimately I’m here to connect with other people in the political space I’m trying to get to and the social media managing space I’m already in. Hearing from accomplished women about how they’ve navigated their, most likely, male centered spaces is an extra cherry on top. I need a mentor, someone that made a 180 turn in in their life and came out on top. And to be frank, I want to have a more genuine, close knit community. I’ve been shy in the past, but I want to take my time on this platform to blossom a little more and make friends while I navigate this new life chapter. 🥳
