Wafa Makhlouf, longtime advocate of Young entrepreneurship is the executive director of CEED Tunisia since 2013. A versatile, astute leader with 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship and politics.

Before devoting her work fulltime to CEED Tunisia, Wafa Makhlouf presided over many important positions. She was the tresorier of the Young Leaders center (CJD Tunisia) from 2005 to 2011 and the former national president of The Young Entrepreneurs Association of Tunisia from 2011 to 2013. She also acted as the president of CJD International from 2014-2015 and simultaneously served as board member of Ben Arous Employer’s association for industry, trade and handicraft (UTICA Ben Arous) from 2012-2017.

She is the founder of Proclean -an environmental service provider to public sector agencies- which she headed from 2003 to 2016.

Wafa Makhlouf has always expressed a keen interest in politics. She is the co-founder of the Tunisian political party Nidaa Tounes, in which she was active since 2012. Additionally, she was an elected member of the Tunisian Parliement for the period 2014-2019. Her work focused on Human rights, Liberties and International Relations. She was also nominated for the 2016 Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum.

Recipient of multiple awards and nominations for several consecutive years, Wafa Makhlouf, was listed one of the 200 African economic leaders in the future in 2014. In 2015, she was listed among the 100 Most powerful Arab Women and among the 100 Most Powerful Arabs under 40 and won the NDI Awards.

Wafa Mahlouf holds a master’s degree in finance and is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
