VirLinda Stanton, entertainer, and activist, is among the most powerful voices to ever command an audience. Relatives and others knew she was a daughter of destiny and divine direction. They just didn’t realize the many directions divinity would lead her.
Her talents first developed while singing in her grandmother’s church in the Shady Grove community of Tyler, Texas. Her list of 5-star performances is nearly countless. VirLinda’s credits include starring with marquee names like Kevin Sorbo, Ernie Hudson and Grover Coulson, James Earl Jones and performing with George Clinton, portraying Church Lady & Shug Avery us in Oprah Winfrey’s, “The Color Purple” and her stellar performance singing for President Obama in the White House (2011).
VirLinda was also given among the ultimate forms of accolades at her hometown in 2011.
