A design activist and ethnographer of social imagination, Uday Dandavate is also CEO of SonicRim, a San Francisco based design research company specializing in co-creation. He has traveled extensively around the world, studying and connecting with all kinds of people and cultures, and watching and perhaps participating as they change over time. In his professional capacity, as well as through blogging, teaching, speaking, and facilitating, Uday provokes fresh perspectives that help to humanize technologies and democratize design.
In his recently published book of poems, a window for a home without walls: life imagination design, Uday Dandavate weaves descriptive imagery and poetic language together to bring the reader on the journey of his personal awakening. However, this is not just an individual experience, but a collective one, as you are able to find your own story written amongst these pages. With each poem, there is an opportunity to understand yourself in a deeper capacity, your role in the community, and your relationship to the universe that holds you. Uday invites you to look into a window for a home without walls, and you may find that your own home is much like his; and often, the answers we seek are found within.we seek to solve the mysteries of the world but fail to discover the world inside ourselves.
