“Love, as Cornel West points out, is ‘a last attempt at generating a sense of agency among the downtrodden people’. I would add that apolitical love is mere demonstration without demands. Love needs to be supported with a politically charged vision. To love and to grow together in love is resistance. A juxtacondition of needing by one and rejecting by the other plays in the minds of insecure beings. Because Dalit Love offers what one is constantly trying to find in oneself, it is most desired. However, this desire comes with conditions that the caste ecology is unwilling to abandon. This is the reason Dalit Love is most desired and simultaneously hated.”
