T. Eric Monroe’s photography spotlights 90’s Hiphop, the humanity in the creative process, capturing rich portraits that reveal a depth of feeling behind the stage personas. While some of the captured images were shared in magazines and international publications over the years, the majority of the work was never published and kept out of all commercial outlets, hidden away for decades, safeguarded from public consumption.

T. Eric Monroe is now opening his historic vault of 90’s photography to preserve and promote the legacies of iconic personas who shaped Hiphop culture. Featuring 90’s artists in the prime of their careers, Monroe’s body of work represents a fresh and unseen perspective of cultural icons from the 90’s Hiphop Community, at a time before the Internet, social media, and digital photography.
