Talya Parker has over a decade of experience in the Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Risk Management space. She is an expert in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and has worked with top corporations such as Deloitte, Nike and the Georgia Technology Research Institute (GTRI). Talya has led cross functional efforts through entire system development and change management cycles in order to mitigate risk and implement compliance strategies for regulatory requirements.

Currently, Talya is a Privacy Engineer at Google; transforming siloed and manual GRC processes into more agile, automated, and integrated programs that can yield better preparedness for regulatory changes, policy improvement, and better risk insights for decision-making. Talya also transforms product teams by building privacy into base tech infrastructure in order to align advanced technologies and Privacy-by-Design principles from the first stages of development.

Talya is an alumna of the illustrious HBCU, Florida A&M University, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Business. Additionally, she holds a Masters in Cybersecurity from Brown University; and a Masters of International Business from Nova Southeastern University.

Lastly, Talya Parker is the Founder and Executive Director of the BGiC Foundation, also known as, Black Girls in Cyber, whose mission is to increase industry awareness and diversity in cybersecurity, privacy, and STEM for women of color. She has been a featured speaker at the National Security Agency (NSA), Black Women in STEM Conference, SANS New2Cyber and SANS International Women's Day, Blacks in Technology, Junior Achievement (Florida) and the RSA Conference, as well as, a guest on multiple podcasts for her work, innovation and passion to grow the pipeline of women in cybersecurity, privacy and STEM.
