Independent Journalist and Adventurer
Anusha Subramanian is an award-winning journalist, a British Chevening Scholar and the Founding Partner of Bohemian Adventures, an adventure sport company. She quit mainstream journalism after almost 2 and a half decades to pursue her passion for Adventure Sports and especially trekking and mountaineering and working for social causes in this sphere. She has nearly 3 decades of trekking experience and over 10 years of climbing experience. Having done her Basic and Advance Mountaineering Courses from NIM she is now a high and low altitude trekking guide. She has combined her skillsets of writing and adventure training to be able to work for the larger good of the society by getting more people introduced to the outdoors and adventure. Anusha is also constantly finding various ways to give back to society through her field of expertise and knowledge. Last 3 years she has been focusing on creating more awareness about Inclusion of Persons with Disability in the outdoors. Towards this effort, in 2018, she successfully led India’s first inclusive climbing expedition (comprising of 3 blind men and 10 sighted climbers) to Mt Kilimanjaro, World’s highest free-standing mountain to a successful summit in Sep, 2018. IN Sep 2020, she spoke at TEDx Gateway Versova chapter on ‘Embracing Inclusion in the Outdoors’ under the theme ‘Empowerment’. In June 2021, she spoke at Ascend International School's Tedx Meet.
