Larry O. Atwater Jr. affectionately known as Stomp Dogg is known as one of the hardest playing drummers in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Born and raised in Washington DC, Larry attended Charles Hart Junior High and Ballou Senior High school; it was here when Larry learned to read and write music. While in school Larry played in the jazz, concert, and marching band. Larry was given his first break at A.P. Shaw Congress Heights United Methodist, his home church located in Washington DC. At the age of five years old, he filled in for his church’s drummer at an out of town performance.

As his love for music and the drums begin to progress, he later went on to play in several Go-Go Bands in the metropolitan area. Since then he has had the pleasure to play for Northeast Groovers, Familiar Faces, Suttle Thoughts, Raw Image, Da Mixx Band, and The A-Team. He has also had the opportunity to play with several national recording artists such as Carl Thomas, Ginuwine, Bennie Segel, Amari, Tabi Bonay, Tony Terry, KeKe Wyatt, Lil Mo, 112, Scarface, Conya Doss, and currently playing with Raheem DeVaughn. In his spare time Larry gives back to his community by mentoring to young teens. He participates in mentoring groups such as Young Men of Drew and mentors to students at Thomas S. Wootten High school located in Rockville, MD. During the mentoring sessions he provides real life testimonies about the music business and the struggles of life with a few other drummers from the Go-Go circuit.

His love for music does not stop with the drums; he also plays the trumpet and keyboard. Aside from performing with his band he also is the owner of the A-Team Producers Group. Under the A-Team Larry works as a producer, engineer, and drummer for several bands and artist in the metropolitan area as well as the east coast. He prefers to play on a Pearl Reference Kit, and also incorporates the Roland SPD-SX Sampling Percussion Drum Pad into his performances. Larry is also known for his ability to run the sequence of a show on a lap top computer using Pro Tools software. Never forgetting where it all started and where his gift came from, Larry continues to play at church and currently serves as the Minister of Music at City of Zion Church located in Laurel MD. He is a very humble drummer and when asked about his success, gives all glory to God
