Healthy and Wealthy Habits: reduce stress, increase energy and take control of your life
We all know we should get regular exercise, eat healthy food and save for the future. Yet it can be challenging to convert this knowledge into action. One of the problems today is wearing busyness as a badge of honour; running on adrenaline, tired at the end of the day yet struggling to fall asleep. Personal finances are one of the biggest causes of stress along with work, family issues, health and major life events. We all have dreams and goals for the future, but how can we balance competing demands while maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
I started my career in financial markets in the heady days of the 80’s, then transitioned into strategic advice and investing for high income executives and wealthy families. Seeing first- hand the impact of our overwork culture and the resulting stresses, I also experienced burn out. Leaving the corporate world, I started my own healing journey including meditation and developing healthy habits in areas such as nutrition, mental and physical health, social, community and personal growth.
Today I support high achievers manage stress and incorporate realistic habits and routines into their daily life. Having a Wellbeing Coach is like having a golf caddie. It’s your game but you have someone providing support and tools, encouraging you and keeping you accountable. My experience as a financial adviser means I both appreciate big picture objectives as well as the micro steps to get there.
Practicing self-care is not selfish. You need to replenish your energy in order to help others. By adopting healthy habits and routines you will feel less stressed, have increased vitality and be better equipped to navigate the opportunities and challenges along life’s journey.
