Bio

Dad, husband, surgeon, scuba diver, photographer, web designer, genealogist, and some other stuff.

I’m a pediatric otolaryngologist in New York City and a technical rebreather diver.

I’ve been the president and dive chair of the New York City Sea Gypsies, and I’m a medical moderator on Scubaboard.com.

Warm water diving is fine, but what I really love is diving in the NYC area.

We live on the edge of a vibrant marine ecosystem with hundreds of diveable historic shipwrecks right off of our shores.

I’m an avid underwater photographer and videographer, and I’m currently the co-director of the New York Underwater Photographic Society.

I’v lectured widely on topics related to diving and imaging. Over the past few years, I have given seminars at Beneath the Sea on underwater photography in challenging conditions, on rebreather diving, and on scuba related ear, nose and throat problems. In addition, I’ve published a number of articles and photographs, as well as a children's book with my photographs of the sea creatures in the New York City area.
