President & Founder, African Association for Vertical Farming (AAVF)

Throughout my career, I have maintained the highest performance standards within diverse range of functions, including being the “face to the public” and leading teams focused on improving company operations.

In 2018, I created the African Association for Vertical Farming (AAVF).

The AAVF’s vision is to improve food security and provide a platform for economic empowerment, especially for youth and women of Africa.

The AAVF uses innovative food production practices to alleviate Africa’s’ growing population, urbanisation and climate change challenges.

The AAVF focuses in training the youth of Africa on Vertical Farming Technology to reach this objective.

The AAVF applies both Formative and Summative Evaluation processes to ensure that:-

• There is actual skills transfer and young Farmers are able to build their own Farms & feed their families.

• There is proof of concept captured in both images, videos and interviews.

• Commercial Farmers are able to run their Farms sustainably.

• There is measurable impact on the Agriculture space in any area that AAVF is involved in.

Shorten the distance FARM-to-FORK: As the numbers of Smallholder Farmers increase, (through training and application) we start seeing the ease access to food within communities. This will not only reduce carbon emission due to moving food produce long distances to final users, but also will ensure that food is affordable & accessible to many.

COVID19 has reinforced the importance of the concept of Farm to Fork. This can reduce infections significantly as there will be less movements and exchange of produce.

Easy access to nutritious food will also address the stunted growth and malnutrition challenge that affect many children in the continent.

With rigorous monitoring & evaluation processes applied, the AAVF will create a great number of young Farmers.

With excellent organizational and communication skills, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments, I am positioned to exceed all expectations.
