Bio

Hi, I'm Shifani and I live on the south coast of Sri Lanka, between the jungle and the ocean.

I work with words, film and podcasts, stitching stories together online, taking care of my two cat babies, learning farming and developing community spaces.

I'm a storyteller in search of others in the world who are as interested as I am, in philosophy, psychology and language.

I enjoy reading unusual existential stories by authors like Haruki Murakami, Albert Camus and Vladimir Nabokov, or spiritual texts by people like Sri Aurobindo and Chogyam Trungpa.

Books that make you wonder: why are we here, floating on a giant rock in outer space?

I like writing poetry and playing with language, and I have a theory that all conflict arises from hiccups in understanding language. I'm all for the slow burn, the slow cook, and slow living.
