🕊The name Shéa Bird stems from a childhood nickname that my aunt gave me. She said when I would get angry, I’d look like an “Angry Tweety Bird”. That name then lead to her famous mantra that she would make me say every time I saw her. “ you’re a rare North American Shéa Bird and there’s no other bird like you”. I strayed from the name as I got older thinking i was “ too grown” for it. I had her stop referring to me as that name bc I wanted to be more respected as an young adult.

🕊The older I got I realized the name was given to me for a reason, because my whole life I’ve always been labeled as different. I would always try to fit in growing up not knowing I was born to stand out. I chose the name Shéa Bird Beauty & Company, because I know there’s a lot of people who’ve tried to fit a certain standard that really doesn’t exist. With Shéa Beauty we don’t want to change what makes you different. We feel what makes you different, makes you beautiful. Beauty is not only skin deep, it’s you. 🧡

🕊I’ve had many trials and errors when it came to starting up my brand and business, especially with a name that works. I’m proud of my journey so far and excited to see where is going. I have big plans for my brand and so many ways for it to expand.
