医学者、創薬学者、米国内科•循環器科専門医。AMED-武田プログラムディレクター。元ハーバード大学医学部内科教授、ミシガン大学医学部内科生化学科教授。元スイスのノバルティス社、アメリカのギリアドサイエンス社、日本の武田薬品工業で研究開発上級副社長。
生まれと育ちは福岡市。東京大学医学部卒業後、主に米国のアカデミアで臨床、研究、教育、国際メガファーマで創薬、研究開発の仕事をしてきました。
Physician-Scientist interested in new therapeutics and medical education. Currently, Program Director of AMED-Takeda program. Formerly worked as Senior Vice President of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Gilead Sciences and Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research.
Also formerly Professor of Harvard Medical School and University of Michigan Medical School. An internist, cardiologist and molecular biologist by training. Born and brought up in Japan.
