Amanda F. Standard
Founder, Artistic Director, Educator, Dancer, Choreographer, Author
A 1995 graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she has received formal training in dance at various schools, and graduated from the LaGuardia High School of the Arts in New York City. She earned an Honorable mention from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts in 1988 She recently earned her Advanced Professional Certification for Prince Georges County Public Schools. Amanda teaches Ballet, Modern (Graham), Jazz, West African, Caribbean, Tap, choreography tools and how to apply dance technique to composition. Amanda is currently serving as dance educator and arts integration specialist at Benjamin D. Foulois Creative and Performing Arts Academy [K-8]. She founded the Divine DESIGN Summer Enrichment Program (2004-present), Emerging Artists Showcase, and Pneuma Dance Project (2006-Present). She has choreographed for various dance ensembles; the Dance Major Program at Howard University, and Wolftrap to name a few. She has produced several dance productions [2003-2017] with Divine Dance Institute. She is the Founder, Executive Director and Artistic Director of Divine Dance Institute, Inc and SoundXpressed Dance Company.
