I share my story with anyone who fears when that next bad thing will happen and model how to move forward with vulnerability and courage, from unapologetic grief to unexpected emotional growth.

We all have the capacity to persevere and eventually flourish following significant loss or trauma. Discovering the positive concept of post traumatic growth made me feel less alone and allowed me to acknowledge and embrace the wide range of seemingly-conflicting emotions without shame or guilt.

My story:
In 2009 my 14-year old daughter Laura died suddenly from a rare childhood brain tumor and three years later I was diagnosed with my own brain tumor and underwent emergency surgery.

With our decision, Laura became an organ donor and saved a 40-year old woman in New York with whom we now have a special relationship 💞
