Adriana Sanford is a Chilean American lawyer. She has multiple law degrees, including a dual LL.M. in Tax and International & Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, where she attended the yearlong Concannon Program of International Law in London. Sanford is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, and has working knowledge of Italian. She has both top-tier international law firm experience and in-house experience serving as Assistant General Counsel of a trade finance bank and as Regional Latin American Counsel for a Fortune 10 company. Sanford received the 2019 CSWY Cybersecurity Woman Law & Privacy Professional of the Year Award. As an international corporate lawyer, she has served as external counsel to various foreign and US companies in the agricultural, seafood, winery, construction, security, and manufacturing sectors. Sanford curranty serves remotely as Of Counsel at the Chilean law firm Puga Ortiz.
Sanford has been a featured keynote speaker with the American Program Bureau for approximately eight years. She has provided 150+ keynote addresses, including for the Association of Corporate Counsel's 19th Annual SuperConference in Chicago, ISACA's Latin America Computer Audit Control and Security Conference in Mexico City, and through events hosted by leading think tank CIEPLAN in Chile, among others. More recently, Sanford was a featured speaker on Data Privacy law and Behavioral Ethics for the American Bar Association (ABA) and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), respectively. Prior to 2020, she also served for six years as a regular analyst for CNN Español. As a professor, Sanford has also taught courses on data privacy law, business law, international law, and international management to 7,000+ students through several top—tier business schools.
Sanford serves on several charitable boards and has co-authored two books on business ethics, cybersecurity, and global threats. The books, Business Ethics: A Guide to Surviving Storms, Challenges, & Ethical Risks and Ética Empresarial, were made available through the ISACA bookstore and were adopted by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). She currently serves as Executive Director of ISSA-LA.
