Bio

SAMANTHA (SAMI) SALTZMAN (DIRECTOR) is about to be the resident director on the Phantom of the Opera World Tour starting this Summer. She recently was the creative entertainment director on the new flagship for Virgin Voyages, helping oversee the creation and launch of over 50 separate shows and events. She has worked on multiple shows as an Associate, Assistant, and Resident. She was the Associate Director/Re-stager for the Color Purple Tour (2nd National Tour) recreating John Doyle’s original. She also worked with both the Broadway and 1st National tours of Matilda the Musical for over two years, serving as the Resident Director and training over forty cast members. Additional Associate/Assistant credits include: The King & I (2nd National Tour based on Bartlett Sher’s production), Lady in the Dark (NYCC), Southern Comfort (The Public), and Sarah Brightman’s Dreamchaser World Tour. In addition to her resident and associate work, Sami is a director of her own projects as well. Additional directing credits include the world premiere of LadyShip at The New York Musical Festival, The Drama League Gala Honoring Steve Martin, (featuring Carol Kane, Ed Helms, and Kermit the Frog) and the Bryant Park Skate-tacular Tree Lighting (narrated by Jane Krakowski and featuring performances by Johnny Weir, and Charlie White and Meryl Davis). In Film/TV she directed the new series Adulting with Jane as well as the award-winning films Idle Worship and Parent Teacher Conference. Sami was a recipient of the Drama League Directing Fellowship and her productions have received honors from The New York Musical Festival and Stage Entertainment.
