Hi! I’m Ruthie.

Creator and host of Why We Theater, a podcast integrating theatre and social justice on the Broadway Podcast Network. (@whywetheater) As the former Executive Editor of Features and Branded Content at Playbill, I specialized in writing in-depth features and creating multimedia pieces and video content about theatre, Broadway, dance, and more. I created and hosted Playbill’s Live From the Red Carpet special from all of Broadway’s opening nights and the Tony Awards. Before that, I worked at Parents, American Baby, Parents Latina, and Backstage magazines—though I began my career in marketing at Time Out New York. My favorite thing is a panel; I’ve moderated events for the 92Y, JCC Manhattan, Disney Theatrical Productions, and BroadwayCon; guested on NPR and SiriusXM Volume radio. A theatre fanatic, I am also obsessed with tennis 🎾 (vamos Rafa!), a dedicated yogi (Bikram or 26 & 2) and an activist. Can’t wait to hang in the clubhouse with you.
