I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare genetic bone disease also known as “brittle bone disease.” People with this condition have bones that break (fracture) easily, often from mild trauma or with no apparent cause. I believe this condition to be a blessing as I have had to develop both a greater empathy for others and a tenacity in pursuing my goals.
