Bio

Ron Duke is an accomplished business leader, board director, mentor/coach and advisor.
Ron has extensive global operating, financial management and turnaround experience in
entrepreneurially-driven private and public companies in eCommerce, social networking, retailing,
franchising, manufacturing, distribution, financial and professional services. Ron has a depth of experience
in capital markets and M&A. Ron has over 20 years’ experience working in companies owned by private
equity or venture capital firms. Ron has a proven track record of creating shareholder value, building a
scalable platform for profitable growth, post-merger integration, achieving operating efficiencies, and
steering IT development. He is a change agent and team builder who executes through a collaborative
management style.
Ron’s C-suite career includes CFO for the Arlene Dickinson Group of Companies, CFO/COO and Interim
CEO of Lavalife, CFO of Color Your World Corp., CFO of First City Trust Real Estate Finance Group, EVP of
United Tire & Rubber, and CFO and Interim CEO of Heller Financial Canada.
Ron currently provides consulting, mentoring and advisory services to entrepreneurial clients and
upwardly-mobile executives. Ron is an angel investor and advisor to startups and early-stage companies,
and performs transaction and due diligence support including in the past for over 200 deals for Dragons’
Den investors, Arlene Dickinson and Bruce Croxon.
Ron is an experienced board director and sub-committee chair. He served for 7 years as an independent
director on the board of Geosoft Inc. and chaired their audit and compensation committees. He has also
served on the boards of gShift Labs, The Bauhub Inc., and Color Your World / St Clair Paint & Paper.
Ron’s NFP service includes director of Daily Bread Food Bank and the Financial Executives International
Toronto Chapter (FEI). Ron was a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute for Corporate
Directors (ICD) – Ontario Chapter, and a member of the Finance Committee of CNIB’s board.
