It’s my first year living Upstate NY and the amount of gratitude I feel for this place feels impossible to put into words. ⁣

Being a part of this landscape feels like a gift I couldn’t possibly return... but something I am striving to do as I deepen my roots in this place with listening and care over time. ⁣

I encourage everyone to get outside, listen to the sounds, feel the elements on your skin, and do your best to observe before acting. It's only once we have a genuine understanding, over time, of a place that we can take thoughtful actions and strive to do some good.⁣

**It’s pre-colonial inhabitants – 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻– were enriching stewards here, recognizing their place as a part of this ecosystem. I hope to honor them and their contributions, without further participating in their erasure, as I learn and live on their stolen lands as best I can.⁣
