Reginald (Reggie) F. Hicks is a 32-year broadcasting and fundraising veteran. He continues to work in public media fundraising in the area of individual giving, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars every year.
Reggie is a podcast producer. He produces a podcast with his son, titled Boomer and the Millennial. He is currently producing podcasts on prostate cancer awareness, Black art, and Black historical events.
He served as General Manager of WJOU-FM 90.1, a praise and inspiration radio station serving the Huntsville, Alabama community for 35 years.
His 20-plus year relationship with WCLK-FM 91.9 in Atlanta has included stints as General Manager, Program Director, Director of Talk Programming, and Development Director.
Reggie severed as Executive Producer for the “first ever” national call-in program addressing issues relevant to the African American community. The 2-hour weekly call-in program titled, “PowerPoint,” aired for seven years in 50 markets on NPR and on Sirius Satellite Radio (now SiriusXM).
Reggie is the Executive Producer of the documentary film, “If You Are My Brothers,” chronicling the journey of a fraternity brother who was diagnosed with an advance stage of prostate cancer. Three years into filming, Reggie was also diagnosed with the disease and became part of the documentary. The goal of the documentary is to increase the awareness of prostate cancer particularly among African American men. Coverage of the project includes Fox 5 Atlanta, WCLK-FM, CAU-TV and the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Reggie is a native of Savannah, GA, and he is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism. He served as an adjunct professor in Mass Communications at Clark Atlanta University and the University of Tampa.
Reggie is active in the community and currently serves on the board of Silver Lining Villages, a non-profit organization helping military veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD), the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition (GPCC), and Self Esteem International, Inc, an organization that provides services to women in life's transition.
In 2013, the Atlanta Business League named him as one of Atlanta’s Men of Influence. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
