Aiming to be genuinely curious i.e. to continually check theory against data for consistency -- it's hard.

Unpopular opinion -- Most people - myself included- are fairly average. Granted, there is some distribution in individual traits and hard work / tenacity has a large effect. However - If you think you are better than others in most respects - you are most probably a narcissist.
