Bio

I create value by empowering leaders with collective intelligence • Value Investor & Real Estate Developer • Harvard College and MIT Sloan alumnus

I am the founder and partner of a group of companies that have developed and delivered -always on schedule- tens of thousands of middle-income homes in Guayaquil, Ecuador, since 1991. We have also partnered up with international companies to develop thousands of homes in Lima, Peru. We purchase large tracts of land and make the necessary investments to provide all the urban infrastructure for our housing projects. We also develop commercial real estate to support and service our communities. Our companies in Ecuador have been selected for many years as Great Places to Work in Latin America, and we have obtained ISO Certifications 9000 and 14000. We have over 55 hectares (135 acres) of forest reserves, and are proud of our environmental initiatives.

I also offer business leaders the opportunity to share in groups with other top executives their main dilemmas both in their personal and professional lives, as Partner of Renaissance Executive Forums. Through a secure, safe, confidential, committed and trusted environment, I create the right space for self-evolution and peer learning. Lifelong learner, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard College, and a Master in Science in Management from the MIT Sloan School. My master's thesis at MIT, "Inflation, Savings and Mortgage Financing: Problems and Proposed Solution for Ecuador," was supervised by Professor Emeritus Franco Modigliani, and was nominated to the Brooks Prize. More lately, I graduated from the Owner/President Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

On a personal note, I enjoy reading about history, philosophy, and technology, tasting wine, and cycling with friends.
