Susie Butler started and ran African Visitors Centre in Oakland California. She was able to meet and give tours to Africans from every country on the Continent. Her group entertained the Gambian President, Ambassador George Moose, Ambassador to Senegal. Her husband’s uncle was the Honorary Consulate to Senegal. She had the city of East Pali Alto hosted a party for the Cameroonian WorldCup team. The Ambassador and his cabinet attended also. As an American she has always had a deep interest in the Continent of Africa and the Back to Africa movement which was huge in Wichita Kansas She is also fashionista who has designed a line of clothing for the elegant woman using the extraordinary fabrics of West. Africa.
She feels that if she can push the African Lace and Guinea Brocade into the American market, she can make a lasting impact on the whole dialogue of Africa. ‘Life is too short to wear boring clothes!’ She is also a jazz singer with a three octave range and actress around the SF Bay area and now in Cairo Egypt.
