It’s 2002, I entered a small room with my now General Manager (GM) of sales for a media company. He came down to give me the keys to my new joint – a shared office space. In the room was a beat-up chair and an old desk. The book of business was billing at $3,000 - 4,000 a month, and I remember him telling me I needed to bring it up to $12,000 - my stomach sank. At this stage, I had a new house, a new car, a new dog and a new wife; which meant I had a lot of debt and even more responsibility. I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders! I was the only one in my small, satellite office, and the main office was 4-hours away. I was dropped into the city to fight the war like I was Rambo, and I succeeded like Rambo, too! In my time with this company, I won many awards and grew my yearly billing to well over $1.5 million, crushing that $12k a month goal.
