Philippe Clarinval is a multilingual Swiss-Belgian citizen and a hotelier through and through who has led many illustrious luxury hotels worldwide before taking over the leadership at the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz.
His unique leadership approach has made him successful in every endeavour because he firmly believes that people and purpose make strategies work.
His passion for the profession of hospitality, and his pride in being a hotelier, absolutely shine through when he speaks. He has a clear desire and ability to bring out the absolute best - in himself, his people, his property, and his company.
He has a thirst for knowledge and a drive to improve continuously. Besides holding an MBA, he is a current Doctoral Candidate at the University of Liverpool. He has also obtained certificates in Executive Leadership and Strategic Alignment and Higher Education Teaching from the University of Oxford and Harvard University, respectively.
He is a member of the European Hotel Managers Association and Past President of the Cornell Hotel Society AlpAdria and Eastern Europe Chapter. Nowadays, he is a Mentor and Coach at the Institute of Hospitality in the United Kingdom as well as a writer for Forbes.com where he is a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council.
