A lifelong cannabis consumer & supporter, I was 21 when Prop 215 passed. I watched 20 years of little access to credible education morph into a mis-informed Prop 64. As cannabis regulations came to fruition in 2016, I dove into cannabis research while completing a Master Degree in Public Health. Cannabis studies kept popping up in my tobacco studies. I could no longer ignore the bias, stigma, & inequity. Looking for solutions to provide needed cannabis education at the public level, I found a new position in the cannabis space.

In this capacity, I collaborate with Long Beach community leaders and city officials to provide cannabis education for the public at large while helping to shape fair business policy, safe access, education, social equity, and public safety. Bringing skills from 11-years as an Editor/English tutor, 7-years as a Medical Assistant, and recent non-profit work with the senior community, my expertise in cannabis education is found specifically in cannabis history, medical access, responsible consumption, and breaking stigma with science-based information.

Public health is my passion and it taught me that a road to a productive, healthy life starts with social determinants of health - SDOH. With so many factors that go into an individual’s SDOH, we can help garner equity in opportunity by infiltrating elected seats and changing entire government-led social systems.

I am a co-founder of Long Beach Peer Education Community Center. LBPECC focuses on “everyday life” education taught by the community for the community “peer-to-peer” and support groups for every niche that needs support.
