HOW IT STARTED
Growing up, I was shy and an introvert. English is my second language, and as soon as I learned how to speak it, I became my parentโs translator. My parents had basic schooling and I was on the free and reduced lunch program. I was constantly told that I was different. I was made to feel inferior for being Mexican. I was told that I was a minority.
HOW ITโS GOING
Iโm an introvert turned international speaker and trainer. Iโve given nearly 400 seminars and trained over 16,000 professionals across five continents. As a first-generation professional, my career journey includes business development roles at five startups, co-founding a nonprofit, Chamber President & CEO and Community Partnerships Manager at LinkedIn. MY WHY
To empower you, so opportunities come to you? WTF does this mean? Remember senior year in high school when universities were courting that top athlete or STEM senior with a full-ride scholarship? Youโre probably saying, โof course, Oscar. They were topsโ. I agree. When you apply for a job, are you not telling the employer that you are the best candidate? Then, why isnโt that employer trying to court you? The reason is that most of us donโt know how to market ourselves.
