قالوا سكت وقد خوصمت قلت لهم

They said: You've been called
out, yet you kept silent?

إن الجواب لباب الشر مفتاح

Indeed, responding is a key
to [opening] the door of evil

والصمت عن جاهل او أحمق شرف

And silence to an ignoramus
or an idiot is a virtue

وفيه أيضا لصون العرض إصلاح

And in it is also reform and
protection of honour

أما ترى الأسد تخشى وهي صامتة

Do you not see the lions being
feared while they are silent?

والكلب يخسى لعمري وهو نباح

While the dog constantly
barks and is despised!

البعد ماهو عيب تدري وش العيب ؟
لانك معه بالعيب تسوي سواته !
