Xolitzquintley is one of the world's oldest dogs. Aztecs were considered to be the representative of Xolotle god on Earth and to guide the afterlife of the dead. In the pre-Spanish period, Xolotle was one of Mexico's favorite gods. The role of the dog was to transfer the souls of the dead to the kingdom of Michtlan. In addition, these dogs were used in ritual sacrifices.
