VANESSA WHITNEY - One of GOD’S INCEPTIONISTS/TECH FOUNDER
Vanessa Whitney is the founder and CEO of Sports Fan Nation. The Afro-Latina entrepreneur is breaking barriers with her disruptive tech platform that serves as an enterprise solution for mobile devices. Vanessa spent 20 years as a corporate professional in various industries working her way up the ladder to serve as Director of Corporate Communications, Events and Marketing for Swatch Group U.S. before taking her toolbox and becoming a serial entrepreneur.
Her tenure with Swatch Group landed 17 brands in her stable, many of whom sponsor or keep time for sporting events around the world including the Olympics, Vanessa had a birds eye view of the best global sports marketing strategies and activations. As a communications and marketing professional, she has hosted international events for domestic and foreign media, managed executive media interface; and worked at creating innovative solutions for brand integration, global marketing partnerships, and promotional strategies. Her ability to think outside the box led to the tripling of global sales in one fiscal year and birthed immersive product placement in movies for brands.
On a personal level Vanessa is the mother of of three children who all excelled athletically to play collegiate sports, one of whom garnered Gatorade Player of the Year, HS All- American, 2 NCAA Championships with Penn State Volleyball, Collegiate All-American accolades and a gold medal in the international Pan Am Games while playing on the US National Team roster.
Vanessa understands the landscape from both a brand perspective as well as that of the passionate fan. The foundational pillars around Vanessa Whitney’s vision for the Sports Fan Nation platform are connectivity, interactivity and authentic voice. When conceptualizing Sports Fan Nation her desire to redefine fan engagement into a two-way conversation led to the creation of features that intuitively give the fan an in event “voice,” and brands a digital presence. A self-described inceptionist, Vanessa has simply connected the dots across her many lives. Sports Fan Nation is a new digital asset for event managers, sponsorship professionals and corporate marketing startegiests across sports and entertainment.
