Bio

I am founder of Ms.Houstons Caring Hands Inc. Our Mission, stop the repeated cycle of abuse by supporting, empowering, and mentoring young mothers. Growing up in foster care myself and being a mom at 16 was so hard for me and I know if I had mentors in my life and someone who could understand how I felt (because of same experience) I am sure I would have made better choices for myself. Imagine being raised in a home with parents who used drugs and was abusive to you and you being taken from the only people you know and being placed with another family who abuse you, then on top of that you become pregnant at 15 ! I can’t tell my whole story in this intro but I can tell you my experience made me want to advocate for young mothers. The system supports the children, but what about the parents who raising these children? Young parents need support, guidance, someone they can trusts and most of all someone who truly understand they situation, emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Mentoring young mothers is my passion and I work close with the moms I’m not just the founder and I’m in the background no I’m hands on because I am that young mom who came from a abusive background, so my passion and concern is from the heart.

I’m here to become more educated on how I can achieve my mission and to network with people with similar interest. My education isn’t in nonprofit management but the experience is definitely 100%.
