Driven by his passion for the game of baseball and his strong desire to develop athletes mentally and physically, Joseph William Dunigan III currently serves as an Area Scout for the Miami Marlins and a member of the MLB franchise’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In this capacity, he scans the Midwest region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin) for the most promising amateur players at the high school and college level.
Joseph played for the Mariners for seven years reaching as high as AAA. After his contract ended, he signed with the Washington Nationals for a year. Before ending his professional baseball career in 2017, Joseph played for about 21 teams in the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, Dominican Republic, and Australia for a total 10 years and 11 seasons.
