S.C.V. TAYLOR ("producer Scotch") is an American independent producer and playwright. His latest film WELCOME TO THE SHOW, written & directed by Dorie Barton (Girl Flu), was shot in late 2019 in Richmond, VA and completed in lockdown. Look for it on the festival circuit in 2021. Previous films include, HOLLY STAR a quirky Christmas comedy written and directed by Michael A. Nickles starring Katlyn Carlson (Broadway’s “Be More Chill") and Brian Muller ("The Duce") and executive produced by Aaron Lubin and Edward Burns; and THE WITCH FILES a teen witch thriller, starring Holly Taylor ("The Americans") and Paget Brewster ("Criminal Minds") written and directed by Kyle Rankin ("Run Hide Fight"). Taylor and Rankin previously collaborated on the romantic zombie comedy NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEB.
Taylor is currently writing and producing a graphic novel SUMMER OF ’74 the incredibly “true” origin story of “Star Wars" and how it all began at a desert truck stop in the swinging 70s in Barstow California. A sci-fi, disco parody origin story.
Taylor began his career at Hyperion Studio where he wrote an episode for the Discovery series "Adventures of A.R.K." starring Christopher Gorham, and worked on projects for Disney, Paramount, Fox, Canal+, Miramax, ABC, CBS, Showtime, HBO and USA Network. Other jobs include a writers' assistant on MR. & MRS. SMITH , a producer on “Big Brother” and developing a sitcom with Victoria Jackson ("Saturday Night Live").
Taylor is the great-grandson of Stanner E. V. Taylor, a writer-director in the Silent Era who wrote over 100 films. Taylor believes he inherited his artistic ambition from his pioneering great-grandfather.
