Don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t ever take your family and friends for granted. Don’t just assume that they’re going to live forever. Don’t you dare assume that just because you’re not very close with somebody in your family or friend circle, you’re not going to miss them when they pass away.

Because you will.

All the good things they ever did would haunt you forever. And you’re going to feel terribly guilty because you did not spend enough time with them, did not hug them as much, did not tell them that you appreciated them. You’re going to remember the small things. A smile, a gesture, a habit of theirs.

So take it from someone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Don’t take anyone for granted. We don’t know the value of something until it’s taken away from us. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Be loving to everybody. Express your love. It is these small things that matter in life. Don’t let your ego come in between. For the love of God, don’t be indifferent because of differences. It’s so ugly. God damn it, see past your ego. Because if you don’t, you’re going to end up miserable. You’re going to drown in the very pit you created. Love.
