ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸೊರಬ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ತಲಕಾಲುಕೊಪ್ಪ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಅಡಿಕೆ ಕೃಷಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಿಂದ ತಳಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಹೆಚ್. ಡಿ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅಶೋಕ ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಮಾಹಿತಿ ಗಣಕೀಕರಣದ ಸಮನ್ವಯಕಾರ. ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದ ಮಿಸ್ಸೋರಿ ಸಸ್ಯೋದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂದರ್ಶಕ. ಕೊಡಗಿನ ಪೊನ್ನಂಪೇಟೆಯ ಭತ್ತ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ. ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಘಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮುನ್ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ ಭತ್ತದ ತಳಿಗಳ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ. ೧೦೦ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳು.

ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಒಂಭತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗೇರು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೇರು ತಳಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ. ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಜಾಲತಾಣದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ. ವಿಶ್ವಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಗೇರು ತಳಿವೈವಿಧ್ಯದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಖಜಾನೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ. ಹನ್ನೊಂದು ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಗೇರು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುವಾಗುವಂತೆ ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ಅನನ್ಯ ‘Cashew India” ಆಪಿನ ನಿರ್ಮಾತೃ.

ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಜಾಲತಾಣ ‘ಕೃಷಿಕನ್ನಡ’ದ (www.krishikannada.com) ರೂವಾರಿ. ಕೃಷಿಕರ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುವಾಗುವ ‘Farmoney’ ಆ್ಯಂಡ್ರಾಯ್ಡ್ ಆಪಿನ ಸೂತ್ರಧಾರಿ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಅಗ್ರಗಣ್ಯ ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಸಿಕ ‘ಅಡಿಕೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ’ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ೨೦೧೩ರಿಂದ ‘ಜಾಲಜಗತ್ತು’ ಅಂಕಣ.

ಕೃಷಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ, ಕೃಷಿ ಸಂವಹನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಬಳಕೆ, ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪರಂಪರೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಬಡಗುತಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ- ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳು.

From an arecanut farming family. Did Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India.

Worked as Plant Database Coordinator at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment, Bangalore. Research Visitor at the Missouri Botanical Garden, USA. Assistant Professor at the Agricultural Research Station and Forestry College, Ponnampete, Kodagu. Conserved more than 300 indigenous paddy cultivars of the Western Ghats. More than 100 research publications.

Currently working as Principal Scientist at the ICAR- Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada district. Nine years experience in Cashew genetics and breeding. Developed a unique android app 'Cashew India' for ten cashew growing states in eleven languages in addition to the first ever cashew germplasm database.

Also developed an exclusive website for farmers (www.krishikannada.com). Created the ‘Farmoney’ android app that caters to book keeping needs of the farming community. Columnist in Karnataka's number one agricultural monthly magazine ‘Adike Patrike’ since 2013.
