With over more than 12 years of experience in civil litigation, Melisa is a well rounded attorney, fully-bilingual (Spanish and English) with a strong legal background, excellent communication and negotiation skills. She is passionately committed to the defense of individual rights and dedicates part of her time to voluntary/pro bono work for minorities. She is a Board Member of Chicago’s Puerto Rico Bar Association and is also on the Executive Board of Crime Stoppers of Bolingbrook and has served as member of other civic, non-profit organizations, in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico and in Chicago, IL.

Her practice include contested and uncontested divorces, child support, establishment of parentage among other matters in family law. She also serves as mediator and Guardian ad Litem. Melisa was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers 2021 edition by Thompson Reuters.

She is a Mom of 2 boys, one is 14 (avid wrestler and great student); and the youngest is 12 (on the autism spectrum).
