📚 8 (soon 23) major medical textbooks changed, including Te Linde and Williams Gynecology.
🏥 Have gotten more detailed clitoral anatomy added to UpToDate, Anatomage Table, VisibleBody app, 3D4Medical app, and Wolters Kluwer reproductive system posters.
❓Have gotten Medscape (currently has 57 times as much coverage of the penis) and WebMD to consider as well.
As of 2021, The American Board of OB/GYN requires urogynecologists to read a study of clitoral innervation and answer related questions as part of their Maintenance of Certification. I hope one day this will be required learning for all specialties who operate on vulvas, so no more women have to suffer preventable harm to their sexual function.
I hope also that one day, professional medical societies, medical journals, and medical textbooks will not spread unsupported myths about women’s genitals. Medical claims should be backed by scientific evidence, not hearsay. Misinformed consent is not consent.
