In 2012, Markâs first feature film, âA Band Called Death,â premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and subsequently won the Audience Award at SXSW in 2013. The film was acquired by Drafthouse Films shortly thereafter and was released to rave reviews around the world. It has a 94% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2016, the band and film title earned a place in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. His award-winning documentary, âThe Crest,â was released by Gravitas Ventures in 2019. Mark also produced the Sci-Fi Adventure film, âAxcellerator (2019),â directed by David Giancola (âTime Chasersâ) and starring Sean Young (âBlade Runnerâ), Sam Jones (âFlash Gordonâ) and John James (âDynastyâ).
