I have recently launched my start up, Twilley Consultancy. The purpose of my company is to provide COVID-19 solutions where needed. I am also privileged to be a Fellow in IARAN.
Background:
I started out my career as a soldier in the British Army, following a line of family history in the Army, Air Force and Marines. My role in the British Army included using Racal/Marconi equipment (the birth of Vodafone) technology during the Cold War with a first posting to Berlin in September 1989 where one month later the Cold War ended dramatically.
I was lucky enough to have plenty of amazing experiences in the British Army, being stationed in Germany, Northern Ireland, Belize and Angola where I spent time with the UN Peacekeepers.
I left the British Army in 1996 to learn how to be a civilian taking on various jobs including, Barman, Airline Steward, Hotel Concierge, Food & Beverage Manager and a Driving School Manager.
In 2005 I moved from Brighton to London and took up a role in a recruitment company, Adecco, as European Training Manager with a range of offerings from basic recruitment sales through to people management training.
I joined Vodafone as Learning & Development Manager on the EVO Programme (ERP implementation) in September 2007. Shortly afterwards, in March 2008, I moved to Budapest to assist in the set-up of our first Shared Service Centre. After three years of migrations to Shared Services, Vodafone then took me to Milan and Istanbul to continue with the EVO Programme roll out and eventually back to London, where I joined Group Finance.
One of the major activities in Finance Operations was to facilitate Digital Labs, an event where business leaders could bring their business problems and with the help of a small, global team, using lean and agile methodologies work on some potential digital solutions.
I spend a small period of time with Block Gemini, learning about blockchain solutions, the ways in which start ups operate and working with the team to establish some business principles for enterprise engagements.
Now I’ve established my own start up, which aims to bring COVID-19 solutions to countries in need. A full catalogue of solutions is available and I am very keen to talk to any government bodies and health authorities that may be looking for ways in which to kick start their economies in our 'new normal'.
