Began with Bella in 2006. Put together $3M budget for the film that would go on to become the winner that year’s Toronto International Film Festival, People’s Choice Award.
Co-Founded Rush River Entertainment with partner William L. Walton in Oct 2012 on our joint birthday the 2nd!
We immediately financed and produced MAX ROSE, Jerry Lewis' first film since The King of Comedy in 1982 and his last. It was an official selection of the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival.
Co-Ep’ed Tom Hank's first ever independently made film, A Hologram for the King. It was bought by Lionsgate and opened Tribeca 2016 where another film Had produced ,The Ticket, was released as well.
And then I lead a consortium of investors to make Martin Scorsese's long time passion project a reality, the film adaptation of Silence, the classic Japanese novel which the director had owned for 27 years. In Late 2014 I devised and executed a plan for the financing structure that what would end up a $50-million-dollar, multi parti, and jurisdiction, independently financed film.
As fate would have it, my executive production duties drastically increased when I was asked to stay on the film, run of show, to safeguard principle photography in Taiwan from February 5th until the end of May 2015.
In February 2016, Matthew co-founded Foxtail Entertainment with a focus on putting strategic capital into high level content development in film, television, VR, and new media, along with the capacity to finance productions and entertainment-related business ventures.
During this time I did To the Bone, Marti Noxon's feature film debut starring Keanu Reeves and Lily Collins, bought by Netflix for 8M$ at Sundance 2017.
Immediately after that I produced Assassination Nation, which became a smash hit and the biggest sale at Sundance 2018, purchased by Neon for $10.2M.
I was also an EP on the VR experience "Spheres", alongside Jessica Chastain, also at Sundance 2018, and co-produced by Darren Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures' with Intel and Oculus. It became the largest and only to date 7 figure deal done in festival history.
I have facilitated well over $125M in content not counting my documentary work.
