Media has always been my passion. I started my career in the media industry at the Dutch company 'Joop van den Ende TV Productions’. There I worked on various TV projects and witnessed the birth of the first reality soap and International TV hit 'Big Brother'.
The company merged and became Endemol International. I worked as a Senior Project Consultant for interactive television and I successfully expanded the TV format 'Big Brother' in more than 80 countries worldwide.
Subsequently, I became one of the founders of 2Waytraffic, a television production company that was eventually bought by Sony Pictures. At 2Waytraffic, we produced phone-in quiz shows such as 'Play', 'Garito' and 'Game On'. Viewers could call a premium-rate phone number for a chance to earn cash prizes. After two years, we managed to acquire the rights to the UK Company Celador International and its program library, including the International format 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’. After this successful takeover, Sony Pictures bought 2Waytraffic.
I then moved on to broadcasters SBS Group and RTL Nederland, where I was appointed as Digital Expert for online video.
Intrigued by the digital revolution, I joined John de Mol's Talpa Global in 2013 to take their digital department Talpa Global Connect to the next level as Head of Talpa Global Connect.
After five years, I transitioned to Mediahuis, one of Benelux's most prominent news publishers, as Director Video & Platforms. I am responsible for all online video (strategy, content & production) and also responsible for all sports in the department Video & Platforms. In addition to my position at Mediahuis I am a Member Advisor of YouTube service agency 5PM. A key area here has been supervising the legality and effectiveness of policy.
