Malli Porter is a rising American rapper who hails from New York City.
The 28-year-old was born in Queens and bred in the Bronx. He first developed a love for rapping as a kid.
When he was nine, Malli's aunt's boyfriend wrote a verse for him and he quickly recited it. From that very moment, he knew rapping was a career he wanted to pursue.
Malli instantly gravitated toward DMX's early music because it was more like a soundtrack to his life. As a teen, living in NYC, Malli was in a dark place and his mother was struggling to make ends meet.
After being tired of seeing his mother struggling everyday, Malli took the same path most teens take in the inner cities: started selling drugs and joining gangs, but he knew that life would eventually leave to jail or death.
After being locked up, Malli had the chance to get his mind right and realized that he could not be letting his talents go to waste. He started writing grimey street raps.
After meeting his close friend, fashion editor Donovan of D.M. Fashion Book (www.dmfashionbook.com), the two formed a bond that made a brother hood but didn’t last on a music tip and Donovan taught him a lot about the music industry, especially the business side.
In 2019, Malli started to leave the street life along for good and put both of his feet into music.
In the past, he performed at a Wu Tang Clan charity event and over five different shows in NYC. He also released several videos on YouTube including "Victory" and "Gotta Go".
Malli is gearing up for a big year in 2021. He is focusing on releasing singles and videos to help build a major buzz for his debut mixtape which arrives by summer 2021
